Crossing major milestones in mature women’s health

In 2022, Sinai Health launched a $50-million campaign to create the Centre for Mature Women’s Health at Mount Sinai Hospital. Every year since, we revisit the Centre’s world-class team and the achievements which have brought us here today. It's our pleasure to report on Your Impact in Action.

Thanks to efforts from the community, the Centre has a new name and a new Director of Research. But the vision remains the same: to become the most comprehensive centre of its kind in the world, and a hub for education and research to address the full spectrum of health challenges women experience across their lifespan.

With philanthropy, we are one step closer to our goal of improving a critical quality of life issue that affects millions worldwide. We are proud to have crossed several major milestones in the last year, including:

  • A transformational $25-million gift to name the Weston and O’Born Centre for Mature Women’s Health
  • Recruitment of the Centre’s inaugural Director of Research
  • Innovative new research in menopausal hormone therapy
  • Expansion of our world-class team of women’s health experts, including a new social worker in the Premature Ovarian Insufficiency Clinic and Canada’s only fellows in mature women’s health and menopause
  • Public education initiatives directly from Sinai Health to audiences across the country like GynQI, Menopause Education Day and Sinai Live
  • Hot and Bothered™: A campaign that sparked a nation-wide movement to end the stigma of menopause
